Soludo Says He Can Revoke Onitsha Main Market Land, Proposes School Project
Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has stated that his administration has the authority to revoke the land allocated to the Onitsha Main Market and repurpose it for public use, including the construction of a school.
The governor made the remark while addressing issues surrounding the management and use of the market land. According to Soludo, the government retains ownership rights over allocated land and can reclaim it if deemed necessary in the public interest.
His comments have sparked reactions among traders and residents, many of whom view the statement as controversial given the economic importance of the Onitsha Main Market. The state government has not yet announced any formal plan to revoke the land, and discussions on the matter are ongoing.
