EFCC Arrests Kannywood Actress Samha Inuwa Over Alleged Naira Abuse

The Kano Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Kannywood actress Samha Inuwa over allegations of Naira abuse.

The arrest took place on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, following the circulation of a viral video on social media in which the actress was seen mishandling Nigerian currency notes in an inappropriate manner.

According to the anti-graft agency, the video prompted immediate investigation after gaining widespread public attention. EFCC operatives traced the actress and invited her for questioning in connection with the incident.

The commission stated that the arrest forms part of its ongoing enforcement of laws prohibiting the abuse and mutilation of the Naira, emphasizing that the national currency must be treated with respect at all times.

Samha Inuwa is expected to be questioned as investigations continue, while the EFCC reiterated its commitment to holding individuals accountable for actions that violate Nigeria’s financial regulations.
