A long-wanted drug kingpin has finally been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), 12 years after he allegedly masterminded the killing of three NDLEA officers during an operation.
The suspect, identified as Lekan Jimoh, had been on the agency’s wanted list for over a decade following the deadly attack that claimed the lives of three officers who were carrying out their lawful duties.
According to reports, the arrest marks a major breakthrough for the NDLEA after years of intelligence gathering and manhunt operations across different locations. The agency described the arrest as a significant step toward justice for the fallen officers and a strong message to criminal networks that no crime goes unpunished, no matter how long it takes.
NDLEA officials confirmed that investigations are ongoing, while the suspect is expected to be charged to court to face prosecution in line with Nigerian law.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to tackling drug trafficking and ensuring accountability for crimes committed against law enforcement personnel.
