“I Am Not for Sale,” Kwankwaso Declares as Governor Yusuf Exits NNPP With Kano Political Bloc

Former Kano State governor and leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has stated that he is “not for sale” amid reports of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s resignation from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

The development comes as part of ongoing political realignments in Kano State. Reports indicate that Governor Yusuf exited the NNPP alongside key political figures, including members of the State House of Assembly, National Assembly members, local government chairmen, and party stakeholders such as Ahmad Sorondinki.

The mass defection has intensified political conversations within the state, raising questions about future alliances and power dynamics ahead of upcoming political activities.

Kwankwaso’s remarks appear to be a response to growing speculation surrounding negotiations, defections, and political interests following the reported resignation.

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement has been issued by the NNPP or the Kano State Government detailing the next political steps.
