Ghana Police Arrest Three Nigerians Over Alleged SIM Box Fraud in Accra


 The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of three Nigerian nationals in connection with an alleged SIM box fraud operation uncovered in Accra.

According to police sources, the suspects were apprehended at the Sakumono Ramsar Site following intelligence-led investigations into illegal telecommunications activities. SIM box fraud is a cyber-related crime that involves routing international calls through unauthorized systems, resulting in significant revenue losses for telecom operators.

Authorities disclosed that equipment believed to be used for the illegal operation was recovered at the scene. The suspects are currently in custody and assisting with ongoing investigations, while further forensic analysis is being conducted on the seized devices.

The Ghana Police Service reiterated its commitment to combating cybercrime and cross-border fraud, warning that individuals involved in such activities will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
