FG’s Newly Deployed CCTV System Captures Three Suspected Vandals on Lagos Third Mainland Bridge

The Federal Government’s newly deployed Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance system has reportedly recorded its first major success, with three suspected vandals caught in real time on the Lagos Third Mainland Bridge.

According to reports, the suspects were spotted engaging in acts believed to involve vandalism of public infrastructure. The incident was detected live through the surveillance network recently installed as part of efforts to improve security, monitor traffic, and protect critical national assets.

Security operatives were alerted immediately after the suspicious activity was observed, leading to a rapid response. Authorities say investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the damage and the identities of those involved.

The Federal Government has repeatedly emphasized that the CCTV project is designed to deter crime, enhance public safety, and ensure swift intervention when criminal activities occur on major roads and bridges across the country.
